North Hill Community Litter Project

Working together for a cleaner parish and clean Cornwallworking with partners

In the Cornish parish of North Hill local people decided it was time to do something about litter on our roads. We wanted to challenge the general acceptance of litter and gain the support of the community. This project is not just about litter picking - it's all about the three Ps:

Picking, Prevention and Partners.

Raising awareness, highlighting the anti-littering message and work on prevention are vital. This project is showing how people in a community are successfully working together for a litter free environment, and in partnership with the local authority.

We hope that other parishes throughout Cornwall and UK will join the anti-littering movement.

Our aims are:

In partnership with...

We work in partnership with Cornwall Council, who give enthusiastic support. We are provided with the picking kit and twice a year the street rangers pick with us to clear litter from the B3254 and B3257. (Pictured above)
